Tether backs Bolivian fintech for USDT payments

Tether said it led a pre-seed funding round in Bolivian fintech Peso to support its expansion across Latin America. Tether did not disclose the investment amount. It said the funding would help Peso expand USDT payment services in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Argentina; that expansion was not reported as complete.

Peso already lets customers pay with USDT through Yango’s food delivery service in Bolivia. It also offers merchant payments and virtual accounts linked to Bolivia’s banking system through ACH transfers.
