Tether reported $1.5 billion in third-quarter operating profit and $7.95 billion in excess reserves, nearly double the $4.1 billion reported in June. Figures released alongside an attestation prepared by accounting firm BDO put its assets at $191.5 billion and liabilities at $183.5 billion at the end of September 2026. Tether said it earned $4.5 billion in net operating profit in the first nine months of 2026, largely from US Treasury bills and reverse repurchase agreements.
The company announced in August that KPMG US had completed its first full independent financial statement audit, but the audited statements were not made public.
