Riot Platforms Acquires Block Mining for $92.5M

This week’s crypto funding highlights include key investments in web3 gaming, Ethereum scaling, Bitcoin infrastructure, and decentralized AI.

Riot Platforms acquired Block Mining for $92.5 million, boosting its operational capacity by up to 110 MW by 2024.

Web3 gaming startup NPC Labs raised $18 million led by Pantera Capital to enhance on-chain gaming adoption through B3.fun.

Caldera secured $15 million to help developers launch Ethereum rollups with a single click, while Igloo Inc. raised $11 million for a new layer-2 scaling network on Ethereum.

Bitcoin Layer-2 startup Bitlayer also raised $11 million, marking a milestone with Franklin Templeton’s strategic investment.

Other notable fundraisers include aPriori ($8M), Mezo ($7.5M), and OpenSocial ($6M), pushing the week’s total VC funding to over $210 million.
