Ripple, Trump’s World Liberty Help Freeze Loot

Binance co-CEO Yi He said Ripple froze about $200 million tied to a hack of the exchange. Reports said the attacker had swapped 36 million RLUSD for ETH before the freezes took full effect, while 52.54 million RLUSD remained unfrozen in a holding wallet; the final split between frozen and swapped RLUSD is unclear.

Yi He said World Liberty Financial and BitGo froze $27 million in USD1 and 48 million WLFI on October 29. Tether said it froze more than 1.567 billion USDT, and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao credited Circle with freezing about $823 million in USDC. Binance put the total frozen at about $3 billion, while TRM Labs counted about $2.7 billion and estimated that roughly $2.4 billion in ETH and BTC remained beyond issuers’ reach. Binance has paused deposits and withdrawals; Yi He said withdrawals would resume after a security scan.
