Ripple announced that it received final approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish a national trust bank. XRP briefly rose from $1.29 to $1.31 after the news, then slipped to $1.30, a gain of less than 1% over 24 hours. The approval does not itself create new demand for XRP, according to Ironwallet Managing Director Ermo Eero, who said the earlier conditional charter was the more consequential announcement.
Santiment Intelligence reported that wallets holding at least 10 million XRP controlled 46.87 billion tokens, or about 68.5% of circulating supply. Some investors voiced frustration at XRP’s muted price response, while claims of price suppression remain unsubstantiated.
