SBI Holdings, Startale Group, Blackrock Financial Management and Blackrock Japan signed a memorandum of understanding on Oct. 26 to study whether tokenized money market fund shares could settle against the yen stablecoin JPYSC. The agreement sets no launch date and does not commit the parties to a finished product. They said the effort is open to other financial institutions in Japan and abroad.
SBI and Startale launched JPYSC in June 2026. SBI VC Trade began distributing Ripple’s RLUSD in Japan that month, but the Blackrock agreement does not mention Ripple, RLUSD or XRP.
