Ripple Freezes $200M RLUSD; Binance Faces Hack

Ripple froze approximately $200 million in RLUSD linked to a potential exploit involving Binance on October 29, 2026, according to Binance co-CEO Yi He. Ripple executive Jack McDonald said the company was monitoring reports of the potential exploit and coordinating with relevant parties.

The source says unauthorized transfers from Binance-linked hot wallets had an estimated impact of roughly $6.3 billion. Binance attributed the breach to a compromised employee laptop and said it had found no evidence that private keys were compromised. Yi He said user funds were safe and Binance would cover losses; the exchange said withdrawals were expected to resume within 48 hours.
