Ripple has donated $1 million to the Commonwealth Unity Fund, a super PAC established by pro-crypto lawyer James Murphy. The fund aims to unseat anti-crypto Senator Elizabeth Warren and support John Deaton in the Senate race.
James Murphy, also known as MetaLawMan, highlighted the significant importance of this election for his family and the crypto community. He emphasized the need for a pro-XRP representative like John Deaton in the Senate.
Murphy has also requested the XRP community to contribute to the fund, adding his own donation of $50,000. As of June 30, the total donations to the fund stood at $1,050,020, with $909,405 in cash on hand.
Meanwhile, the price of XRP has seen a 3% rally, trading at $0.54, partly due to news related to an XRP ETF. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and CF Benchmarks announced new reference rates and real-time indices for XRP, sparking speculation about an XRP ETF.
This strategic move by Ripple highlights the growing political engagement within the crypto community and underscores the importance of having pro-crypto advocates in influential positions.
