Ripple, Arf Target Cross-Border Payments’ Funding Gap

Arf announced a plan on October 22 to provide licensed payment businesses with short-term RLUSD financing on the XRP Ledger under an arrangement with Ripple. The loans are designed to cover funding gaps between legs of cross-border payments and are typically repaid within one to five days. The announcement describes a staged plan, not a disclosed amount of new financing.

Arf’s reported $10 billion in annual settlement activity belongs to its wider existing business; it is not the size of an RLUSD loan pool or a commitment to buy XRP. A later move to native XRPL lending depends on protocol amendments gaining validator support before activation.
