Ripple, a global crypto payments firm, has partnered with Archax, the UK’s first FCA-regulated crypto exchange, to bring tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) worth hundreds of millions to the XRP Ledger. The announcement was made at the XRP Ledger Apex 2024 summit.
This collaboration aims to establish XRP Ledger (XRPL) as the leading blockchain for RWA tokenization. Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, expressed optimism about the partnership’s growth potential.
Ripple and Archax first partnered in 2022 when Metaco offered digital asset custody services to Archax’s clients. This partnership will now enable financial institutions to tokenize their RWAs on the XRPL, paving the way for new use cases.
XRPL’s robust features, like an Automated Market Maker (AMM) and upcoming Decentralized Identifier (DID), make it well-suited for RWA tokenization and institutional-grade DeFi.
The introduction of the XRPL EVM Sidechain for Ethereum compatibility further expands its utility. This move underscores the strategic importance of XRPL in global financial infrastructure and digital asset adoption.
