Pi Network announced on October 16, 2026, that its first Pi Ecosystem Summit is scheduled to take place online from November 17 to 19, 2026. It said the event will feature platform releases and application demonstrations, and introduce a hackathon. The Pi Core Team has not yet provided the hackathon’s structure or participation requirements; announcements at the summit will not, by themselves, establish whether new services can attract sustained use.
Separately, Pi Network’s Protocol v28 Mainnet transition was scheduled for October 16, but the source does not confirm that it took place. The upgrade is intended to improve application development and transaction-data handling, though its practical effect will depend on implementation and adoption.
