Ripple Invests $10M in Tokenized T-Bills on XRP

Ripple will allocate $10 million into tokenized U.S. Treasury bills on the XRP Ledger, in collaboration with Asia’s largest tokenization platform, OpenEden. This marks the first time short-term U.S. government debt will be available on the XRP Ledger for XRP holders.

This investment will be made through a newly created fund by Ripple, focusing on tokenized assets. Part of Ripple’s broader strategy, the $10 million will be invested in OpenEden’s TBILL tokens, emphasizing the growing Real-World Assets (RWA) market.

A standout feature is that users can mint these TBILLs using stablecoins, including the Ripple USD, set to launch later this year. OpenEden already holds over $75 million in total value locked for its U.S. T-bills.

XRP Ledger’s support for automated market makers, lending protocols, and decentralized identifiers makes it vital to the RWA and DeFi markets. This initiative underscores Ripple’s strategic move towards enhancing utility and opportunities in the expanding tokenization market.
