Binance and Polymarket proposed a Polygon hard fork to recover about 70.49 million POL, worth roughly $6.8 million, stolen in separate incidents. The proposal would move the tokens from five attacker-controlled addresses to recovery wallets designated by the platforms, without changing POL’s total supply.
Polygon block producers have blocked transactions from the affected addresses, but the proposal says those temporary restrictions cannot return the funds. The fork still needs governance approval and testing on Polygon’s Amoy testnet. Discussion is scheduled for Nov. 5; no date has been confirmed for a mainnet fork.
