DxSale Suffers $7.3 Million Cyberattack on BNB Chain
- Memecoin launch platform DxSale was drained of $7.3 million, impacting around 1,400 liquidity providers (LPs) on the BNB Chain.
- The attacker, using address “0xC457,” transferred $1.87 million worth of BNB tokens into two wallets and deposited them into multiple Binance addresses.
- In May alone, hacks in decentralized finance (DeFi) have stolen $52 million, a decrease from $634 million in April.
- Blockchain analyst Tahax noted that the exploiter wallet was newly created and funded via Bybit.
- Over $17 billion in crypto exploit losses have been tracked by DefiLlama, with approximately $7.8 billion attributed to DeFi protocols.
