Polkadot Funds $14.4M for DeFi Project Hydration #DeFi

Polkadot’s treasury has allocated $14.4 million to support the DeFi project Hydration, which was recently renamed from HydraDX. The funds aim to enhance liquidity and efficiency for Hydration’s Omnipool, a single-sided liquidity provisioning platform.

This allocation aligns with Polkadot’s broader efforts to expand its network adoption. The funding will be executed in two phases: the first phase will disburse 1 million DOT to attract new liquidity, offering liquidity providers an annual percentage yield (APY) exceeding 200%. The second phase will use the remaining 1 million DOT to bolster the native liquidity layer for the Polkadot 2.0 ecosystem.

Hydration’s Omnipool design allows users to earn rewards by depositing single assets or joining an incentive farm with stablecoins, DOT, and Bitcoin. Jakub Gregus, co-founder of Hydration, emphasized the allocation’s importance for the health of the Polkadot ecosystem, stating it will set new standards in blockchain technology.

This funding supports Polkadot’s goal to improve liquidity management and marks a pivotal moment for the network’s future. For more context, visit Polkadot, Tokens, and Accelerate Polkadot.
