Tether has announced it will stop issuing USDT on the Algorand and EOS blockchains. This decision, driven by community interest, maintainability, and usage, is effective immediately.
Tether evaluated the security and sustainability of each blockchain and concluded that Algorand and EOS did not meet the required standards. USDT redemption on these blockchains will continue for the next 12 months.
This move follows Tether’s similar action last year when it ceased USDT issuance on the Omni, Kusama, and Bitcoin Cash Simple Ledger Protocol (BCH-SLP) blockchains. Despite these changes, USDT remains available on various other blockchains like Ethereum and Tron.
