BNB Chain Reduces Fees with BEP-336 Update

On June 20, 2024, the BNB Chain team will launch the BEP-336 upgrade to enhance blockchain performance and lower transaction fees. Inspired by Ethereum’s EIP-4844 hard fork, this upgrade could cut transaction costs by up to 90%.

The standout feature of BEP-336 is the introduction of BlobTx transactions, which manage data storage more efficiently by handling data chunks up to 128 KB. This efficiency will significantly improve the BNB Greenfield decentralized storage system.

Key benefits include reduced gas fees, improved data management, and a better user experience on BNB Smart Chain. These changes will benefit both developers and users, fostering innovation and growth.

In June 2024, BNB Smart Chain, with Binance Labs, also launched a support program for Web3 projects, underscoring their commitment to advancing blockchain technology. The BEP-336 upgrade is a strategic move to address long-term data management and transaction fee challenges.
