The Solana Foundation released an open-source delivery-versus-payment programme on October 6 to put securities delivery and payment in one atomic blockchain transaction. The MIT-licensed tool includes isolated escrow, time limits, and support for SPL Token and Token-2022 assets.
JPMorgan gave feedback on settlement practices but, according to the Foundation’s disclaimer, did not operate, certify or guarantee the software. The programme has undergone external security reviews; broader production adoption and planned privacy features are still future steps. Institutional use would also depend on legal finality, custody integrations and how errors are handled outside the smart contract.
