Samsung launched stablecoin accounts in Samsung Wallet for eligible U.S. Galaxy users, allowing them to buy, hold, send and receive USDC on Solana. The announcement says the feature is available on about 82 million compatible U.S. devices. It requires Android 13 or later and is limited to U.S. residents aged 18 or older, excluding New York.
Users can transfer USDC without a Samsung fee, though other providers may charge one. Payouts to qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries carry fees that vary by destination. Credit-card top-ups cost 4%, and bank or debit-card withdrawals also carry a fee. Samsung says it plans to explore stablecoin payments and expansion to other markets, subject to local regulation.
