Bitcoin Posts Worst October Finish Since 2014

Bitcoin closed October 2026 down 7.32% against the dollar, its weakest October since 2014 and its second consecutive October loss. The source says a reported $6.3 billion Binance hot-wallet breach on Oct. 29 rattled markets; over a seven-day period, bitcoin traded between $76,337 and $81,840.

Binance pledged to cover customer losses, and blockchain investigators estimated that about $3 billion in stolen assets had been frozen. Questions remained about the breach, the other stolen assets and when withdrawals would be restored.
