Hut 8’s $4.25B Note Offering Fuels AI Data Center Expansion

  • Hut 8 has issued $4.25 billion in senior secured notes at a rate of 6.129% to finance its new AI data center.
  • The Beacon Point project in Texas will feature six data halls with a total of 352 megawatts of IT capacity.
  • The facility will be leased to a tenant rated AA- or higher, although the tenant remains unnamed.
  • This marks Hut 8’s strategic shift from bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure development.
  • The notes are due on November 30, 2042, with principal payments starting May 30,2030.

Hut8 is leveraging its expertise in power management from mining to enter the growing AI and high-performance computing market with its Beacon Point project in Texas.
