Metaplanet’s Share Buyback Targets Bitcoin Per Share

Metaplanet repurchased 96,447,400 shares for about $160 million (¥25.27 billion) between Oct. 14 and Oct. 31, according to the source. That was roughly 7.1% of its issued shares and 48% of the 200 million shares authorized for repurchase. The program permits up to $380 million (¥60 billion) in purchases through Oct. 13, 2027.

CEO Simon Gerovich said the company’s goal remains to maximize bitcoin per share, while weighing its share price, mNAV and market conditions. The buyback did not involve a bitcoin purchase. The source says Metaplanet still has $211.7 million available for bitcoin purchases.
