Lookonchain reported that three newly created wallets received 1,090 BTC, worth $90.38 million, from Wintermute on Oct. 20–21. The transfers may resemble an over-the-counter purchase, but the buyer is unknown, and the wallets could also be used for collateral or custody transfers.
Lookonchain also reported that five new wallets received 1,162 BTC, worth $96.77 million, from Wintermute on Oct. 14. Together, the reported transfers totaled about 2,252 BTC, or $187 million, in seven days. Gemini said bitcoin had closed above $80,000 for 33 consecutive days, though a Coinbase price discount to Binance and OKX pointed to possible U.S. spot selling.
