Analyst Forecasts ETH ETF Outpacing BTC

Over the past two months, Ethereum has outperformed Bitcoin, with analysts predicting further gains due to the upcoming launch of an Ethereum ETF. Expected to strengthen ETH against BTC, this ETF could trigger significant capital investments and boost ETH’s market position.

Michaël van de Poppe and K33 research suggest that the ETF could account for 0.75-1% of Ethereum’s circulating supply over five months. Despite the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) delaying the approval of spot Ethereum ETFs, analysts like Nate Geraci and Eric Balchunas remain optimistic about a near-term approval.

Bitcoin may face selling pressure as $8.5 billion worth of BTC is returned to Mt. Gox creditors. This influx could lower Bitcoin’s price, while Ethereum’s ETF might attract $750 million to $1 billion in monthly inflows, according to Kraken’s Thomas Perfumo. Historical trends indicate Bitcoin dominance rises in the fourth quarter of halving years, suggesting possible future shifts in market dynamics.

The launch of an Ethereum ETF represents a potential turning point, enhancing ETH’s market performance and attracting institutional investors, thereby influencing long-term crypto market trends.
