Metaplanet announced on October 13, 2026, that it plans to sell almost ¥52 billion ($328.85 million) in zero-coupon convertible bonds on October 29, 2026. It expects about ¥51.9 billion in net proceeds and plans to use ¥23.6 billion to partially repay a Bitcoin-backed credit facility and up to ¥28.3 billion for share buybacks.
The company said the financing would replace some Bitcoin-backed borrowing with long-term unsecured funding. It said the financing is not intended to increase its Bitcoin holdings per share at this point. The bonds can be converted into shares under certain conditions.
