Analysts: Hawkish Fed hold pressures Bitcoin

The US Federal Reserve voted 10-2 on October 28, 2026, to hold its benchmark interest rate at 3.75% to 4%. Two officials favored a quarter-point increase. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said inflation remained above the bank’s 2% target but declined to say whether rates would rise at its December meeting.

Market analysts said Bitcoin could face further pressure after the Fed’s inflation warnings. Traders assigned a 78.4% probability to a quarter-point rate increase by December and a 67.3% probability of at least a quarter-point increase by March, according to CME FedWatch data cited in the source. Bitget analyst Lewis Huang said Bitcoin’s near-term performance may depend more on Treasury yields, the dollar and broader investor sentiment than on the Fed’s decision itself.
