Bitcoin circles $81.5K ETF basis; stocks fall

Bitcoin fell below $82,000 around the Wall Street open, hitting $81,256 on Bitstamp, down 2.9% on the day. US stocks also fell as President Donald Trump said the US was “not negotiating” with Iran and raised the prospect of military action; the source also cited mixed reactions to Tesla earnings and spending.

Bitfinex Alpha analysts forecast Bitcoin would trade between $81,300 and $84,400 until the Federal Reserve’s Oct. 28 meeting. They said sustained ETF demand and stable leverage could support a move above $84,400, while a close below $81,300 amid broader economic headwinds would raise the risk of a move toward $79,821.
