Bitcoin hits $80.5K amid midterm stock rally

Bitcoin rose past $80,500 at Wednesday’s Wall Street open, gaining more than 4% from a seven-week low as US stock futures rebounded after midterm election results showing Democratic gains. The excerpt does not establish that the election results caused Bitcoin’s rise. One analyst said real yields, dollar liquidity and exchange-traded product flows mattered more for Bitcoin than the elections.

S&P 500 futures climbed from 7,490 to 7,690 points after an overnight dip. WTI crude fell below $93 a barrel amid hopes for an end to the US-Iran war, but economist Robin Brooks said it was unclear whether President Donald Trump would ease or escalate the conflict.
