Bitcoin holders received eCash: What can it do?

Paul Sztorc launched eCash, a separate Bitcoin fork, on Oct. 29. Holders who controlled their BTC private keys at the fork’s snapshot received an equal ECX balance, but those who kept BTC on a centralized exchange depend on the exchange to distribute it. Self-custody holders need an eCash-compatible wallet and must separate their ECX carefully: an unprotected transaction on one chain could be replayed on the other.

Five sidechains launched with eCash, while two more were still planned. Native ECX trading was available on NeoxEX, but the token was not widely available on larger exchanges. CoinMarketCap listed ECX at $32.63 as of Nov. 5; CoinGecko had no price or tracked markets, and Kaiko did not track it, limiting independent market data.
