Bitcoin briefly fell below $81,000 after Friday’s Wall Street open, reaching $80,988 before recovering to about $81,600 at the time of the report. US stocks also opened lower, while Brent crude rose nearly 3% to $116 a barrel.
Bitcoin remained below its 50-day simple moving average of $81,781. Trader Keith Alan said he would look for a test of support between $78,000 and $80,000 if Bitcoin failed to reclaim that level by the daily close.
