Utexo says it plans to launch USDT on Bitcoin through the RGB protocol on Nov. 28, with Lightning Network support planned for the first quarter of 2027. The launch has not happened yet. Early access to its Mint product is limited to verified professional operators testing on Bitcoin’s Signet network.
Mint locks USDT0 on Arbitrum before issuing an equivalent amount on Bitcoin, so redemption depends on the funds remaining available on Arbitrum and on the mechanisms connecting the networks. Utexo says Mint has been audited, but the full report is not public. Tether previously stopped issuing USDT on Bitcoin in August 2023, citing declining use.
