Strategy is looking to fund more Bitcoin purchases through preferred shares, with executive chairman Michael Saylor saying on a third-quarter earnings call that its existing balance sheet could support as much as $30 billion in “digital credit.” He said that would not require another common-stock capital raise or further Bitcoin price gains. The figure is a possible capacity, not an announced fundraising target.
CEO Phong Le said issuing digital credit would be the main way to buy more Bitcoin. If Strategy raised $1 billion to $2 billion in a month through its STRC preferred shares, he said, it could put some proceeds into dollar reserves and spend the rest on Bitcoin. Strategy reported $19.53 billion in third-quarter net income, driven largely by a $20.91 billion gain in the value of its digital assets.
