BlocksBridge Consulting reported on October 22 that Bitcoin’s seven-day average hashrate had recovered above one zettahash per second, its highest level since March 3. The report also recorded a 5.92% rise in mining difficulty on October 16.
Hashrate is an estimate, and the seven-day average does not mean the network stayed above that level at every moment. BlocksBridge said a company’s shift toward AI does not necessarily remove its mining machines from the network, but its analysis did not establish where the additional hashrate came from.
