On October 28, 2026, on-chain analytics firm Glassnode said long-term Bitcoin holders owned about 4 million BTC bought between $85,000 and $118,000, mostly in 2025. With Bitcoin around $81,400, those coins were at a loss, and Glassnode said many holders may sell if the price returns toward their purchase range. Glassnode defines long-term holders as people who have held coins for more than 155 days.
Glassnode put the average cost basis of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs at $81,500. Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart estimated it at just under $82,000, but said his estimate tracks fund flows, not prices paid by secondary-market buyers. The Federal Reserve held its benchmark rate at 3.75% to 4.00% in a 10-2 vote.
