Blockchain.com introduced options trading on seven cryptocurrencies for eligible customers starting Oct. 20, with premiums as low as $5 plus fees. Contracts expire within seven days and cannot be sold, adjusted or closed early, even if they become profitable. Purchases are funded upfront in USDC, limiting losses to the premium and applicable fees.
The service excludes the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Blockchain.com filed applications with the CFTC on Oct. 13 seeking authorization for regulated derivatives and prediction markets in the United States; the applications are not an approval.
