Sophon Chain said its Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet will permanently shut down on Nov. 30, 2026. It set Nov. 25, 2026, as the deadline for users to withdraw assets, including liquid SOPH, ETH and USDC, and to claim outstanding staking, Guardian and farm rewards. The team warned that funds left on the chain risk becoming permanently inaccessible as bridges, RPC nodes and other services shut down after that deadline.
Sophon said annual operating costs exceeding $3 million made its standalone network economically unfeasible. It plans to develop consumer applications on Base instead.
