Crypto Leaders Criticize WSJ Ad on Tokenization Risks

The Common Sense Leadership Fund placed a Wall Street Journal ad urging public-company CEOs to opt out of stock tokenization. The ad warned of risks including hidden ownership, market manipulation and weaker investor protections, and said CEOs might face liability if something went wrong. The excerpt gives the ad’s day as the 24th but does not establish its month or year.

Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo called the ad misleading. He argued that its concerns do not apply to tokenization under U.S. securities rules when tokens trade on regulated venues. Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and several other companies have objected to being listed by OKXICE, a venture that applied to operate a tokenized securities venue; the excerpt does not say they opted out of tokenization altogether.
