Securitize published a full-page Wall Street Journal ad defending stock tokenization through SEC-regulated venues. The ad says tokenized shares should be backed 1:1 by real shares, carry voting and dividend rights, and be transferred lawfully between identified investors. It claims this approach could bring stocks to new investors, extend trading hours and add liquidity.
The ad responded to an earlier campaign urging companies to object to tokenized listings. Despite Securitize’s defense, 38 of the 63 companies targeted for OKXICE’s proposed blockchain trading platform have opted out, including Microsoft and Walmart.
