AI agents help rescue ETH’s Glamsterdam fork

Ethereum’s second and final Glamsterdam hard-fork testnet was cancelled after ChainSecurity found vulnerabilities linked to two gas-scaling proposals, EIP-8037 and EIP-8038. The changes could break at least 13 DeFi contracts that rely on how gas behaves when a call runs out; an attacker may have been able to exploit the flaws. The Hoodi test will not be rescheduled until the fork’s wider effects have been examined.

Eth Labs’ Derek Chiang said researchers from Eth Labs and the Ethereum Foundation set up a GitHub message board so their AI agents could coordinate contract scans. He said a second board has been set up to examine EIP-8198, a proposal for the later Hegota fork.
