Tether’s USDT supply on the Telegram-linked The Open Network (TON) blockchain has grown by $580 million in less than two months. As of now, its net circulation on TON stands at $519 million.
This growth is attributed to the ease of transactions on TON, likened to sending a text message. Analysts also note the surge in investor interest and TON’s recent surpassing of Ethereum in daily active addresses. Binance’s recent integration of USDT on TON has further expanded access.
Despite this growth, Tether faces scrutiny from the US consumer group, Consumers Research, which accuses it of fraud and other illicit activities. The long-term significance lies in TON’s potential to revolutionize digital transactions, enhancing global financial connectivity.
