Ethereum to Shut Down Holešky Testnet, Transitioning to Hoodi
- Holešky, Ethereum’s largest testnet, will be shut down two weeks after the Fusaka upgrade, expected in late September.
- Launched in September, Holešky tested staking infrastructure and validator operations but faced technical issues leading to its planned end-of-life.
- The new Hoodi testnet was launched in March to replace Holešky and will support future protocol upgrades including the Pectra update.
- Fusaka aims to enhance rollup data access efficiency and is set for early November with a total of eleven Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs).
- The Glamsterdam upgrade is projected for sometime in 2026 and may halve block times from twelve seconds to six seconds.
