Ukraine is exploring blockchain use in its government sector, focusing on land registry, customs, and real estate. Researchers reviewed 32 cases, highlighting the integration of blockchain in the State Land Cadastre and Customs Service, as well as its use in real estate registrations and the pilot of the e-hryvnia by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The report reveals a global trend towards regulatory clarity and government recognition of Web3 technologies, driving decentralized solution adoption. Current blockchain projects in Ukraine are disconnected, lacking innovative solutions and cohesion. Discrepancies exist between goals and achieved outcomes.
Alexander Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation on IT Development, emphasized blockchain’s potential in preventing data manipulation and enhancing cybersecurity. Despite challenges, blockchain technology offers efficient and transparent solutions in the public sector, underscoring its long-term strategic importance for Ukraine’s digital transformation.
