zkSync Announces Final Protocol Upgrade Ahead of Token Launch

zkSync, an Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution, has announced its final protocol upgrade, v24, marking a significant step towards complete decentralization and hinting at an imminent token launch. This move comes after zkSync’s integration of EIP-4844 in March and signifies a commitment to transferring network governance to its community. The protocol has seen substantial growth, with over $141 million in total value locked and a growing ecosystem boasting 180 decentralized applications and 5.7 million unique active wallets in the last 30 days.

Unique in its approach, zkSync leverages zero-knowledge rollup technology to offer cheaper transactions and off-chain computation, setting itself apart with a focus on long-term, scalable blockchain solutions. This technology not only promises enhanced scalability for Ethereum but also demonstrates zkSync’s pioneering role in pushing for a decentralized future. The integration with USDC and support from major investors like Blockchain Capital and Dragonfly Capital underscore its strategic importance in the broader ecosystem, poised to serve billions in the new era of verifiable internet.
