Binance Starts Shopping for Stolen Coins

Lookonchain reported that 128.63 million ENA, worth about $24 million, moved from Ethena-labeled wallets to Binance on Oct. 31. That is roughly 59% of the 217.5 million ENA an onchain analyst said was stolen from Binance on Oct. 29. The transfers were tracked onchain; the excerpt does not establish that Binance bought those tokens.

In an Oct. 30 update, Binance said it would cover stolen funds and had set aside more than $6.34 billion, including $5 billion in the stolen token types. It said it was buying the remaining assets through markets and private deals. Reserve Protocol said Binance had confirmed plans to repurchase 3.38 billion stolen RSR, but Reserve only inferred that the purchase would be complete before Binance’s Nov. 2 proof-of-reserves report.
