Crypto.com Secures MiCA Approval Malta

Crypto.com Gains In-Principle MiCA Approval from Malta

  • Crypto.com has received in-principle approval for a MiCA license from Malta’s Financial Services Authority.
  • The approval is a step towards obtaining a full CASP license under the EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets legislation.
  • The CASP license will allow Crypto.com to operate across the EU’s 27-nation trading bloc.
  • MiCA legislation was passed in 2023 to regulate crypto asset service providers within the EU.
  • Other companies with MiCA licenses include Boerse Stuttgart Digital, MoonPay, and Hidden Road.

Crypto.com’s in-principle MiCA approval by Malta positions it to soon receive a full CASP license, enabling operations throughout the EU’s trading bloc of 27 nations.
