Terawulf, IREN Bet on AI Amid Falling Mining Revenue

Terawulf reported $76.2 million in revenue for the third quarter of 2026, including $63 million from high-performance computing data center leases. Its operating loss widened to $88.2 million from $24.7 million a year earlier, while total costs and expenses more than doubled to $164.5 million.

Terawulf said it had secured a 20-year lease with Anthropic representing about $19 billion in contracted revenue. Separately, bitcoin miner IREN reported $28 million in mining revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30, down from $67 million in the previous quarter, and said it expects to substantially complete its move to AI cloud operations by Dec. 31, 2026.
