Former FTX COO Constance Wang said she stopped watching the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming drama about the exchange’s collapse after 30 seconds because it upset her. She said its portrayals of former executives did not match her experience, including its depiction of Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison; she also said Sam Bankman-Fried was more socially awkward than portrayed.
Netflix has released a trailer for the eight-episode series, The Altruists, and says it will premiere globally on Nov. 19, 2026. FTX collapsed in November 2022.
