Google Cloud Previews Institutional Crypto Key-Security Service

Google Cloud has documented a Multi-party Compute service for institutional digital-asset custody, but it is not yet generally available. The documentation references an October 2026 API and a migration path; it does not establish a launch date or production use by custodians.

The service divides signing authority among participants and includes transaction policy controls. Google lists secp256k1 signing for Bitcoin and Ethereum-style networks, while Ed25519 support for Solana is marked as coming soon. Splitting signing authority can reduce reliance on one location for a private key, but it does not make transfers reversible or remove the need to protect approvals and access credentials. The source describes any effect on demand for digital assets as indirect, not automatic.
