Bitgo Europe Launches MiCAR-Compliant CaaS Platform
- Bitgo Europe, authorized by BaFin, launched a Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform for EU VASPs on June 17.
- The CaaS platform includes MiCAR-regulated custody and wallet infrastructure with client asset segregation.
- Poland faces a July 1, 2026, MiCAR deadline as Lithuania’s legacy VASP regime expired on December 31, 2025.
- Bitgo Europe’s custody insurance covers up to $250 million, subject to terms and conditions.
The introduction of Bitgo Europe’s CaaS platform provides a regulatory-compliant solution for businesses transitioning under the new MiCAR framework across the European Economic Area. This service aims to assist firms previously operating under now-expired national registration regimes by offering regulated infrastructure without disrupting existing services.
With Poland’s upcoming transition deadline and Lithuania’s already passed, Bitgo Europe’s CaaS offers an immediate alternative to building standalone regulated operations from scratch, ensuring compliance with MiCAR standards while maintaining business continuity.(Source)
