A DBS Bank survey conducted by EY between June and July 2026 found that 88% of 422 senior executives at companies with more than $500 million in annual revenue said their companies were using or testing tokenized money. The survey covered 11 markets: 24% reported deployment at scale, 43% use in selected markets, and 21% pilots or proofs of concept.
Fiat-pegged stablecoins were preferred by 63% of respondents, ahead of tokenized deposits at 53%. DBS said companies increasingly expect banks to support round-the-clock payments and settlement, but regulatory uncertainty, security concerns, integration costs and incompatible networks complicate adoption. Tokenization does not itself guarantee liquidity or immediate settlement.
